Report a data error

How reports are reviewed

Submitted reports are checked against available manufacturer documentation and other relevant sources.

A report does not automatically change a record. CompatRef may:

  • Correct the record
  • Add or change a compatibility condition
  • Replace or supplement a source
  • Change the classification to Unknown
  • Retain the existing classification when stronger evidence supports it

Correction principles

When a confirmed error is corrected:

  1. The affected record is updated.
  2. Its verification date is reviewed.
  3. Related model, part, and family pages are checked for the same issue.
  4. Material corrections are added to the public correction log below.

Minor spelling, formatting, and broken-link repairs may be made without a correction-log entry when they do not change the compatibility meaning.

Correction log

No material corrections have been logged since this policy was published.

Response-time limitation

CompatRef reviews correction reports as resources permit. Submission does not guarantee an individual reply, but reports containing verifiable evidence are prioritized.
